Minimum Wage |
If 47 million people are working their rear ends off for bosses too cheap to buy them health care insurance, then why not pass a law making it illegal to not give it to them? No more deductions from your paycheck, either. Not in the paycheck party way of doing things! The majority of those without health insurance also have full-time but low paying jobs. Full time part time jobs are given out instead of full-time jobs to avoid paying for perks like health insurance. The paycheck party wants mandatory health insurance for for every employee in the country, full or part time, including waiters and employees of small businesses who traditionally moan and groan about not being able to afford health insurance. It's simply amazing how badly the bosses treat the lowest paid american among us. The rest of us find it pathetic, but we have our own problems with health care insurance from our bosses, too. They are shifting more and more of the cost on us and we have little choice but to watch our paychecks dwindle away under a steady onslaught of deductions. The paycheck party wants everything about your paycheck to become very very simple. There should be a law that says you get paid the amount the bosses promised you and not one single penny less. Deduting anything from your paycheck should be a federal offense and any boss who does it should be locked up for the rest of his life as a common thief. If the bosses have to give you some kind of health care by law, they will simply have to pay for it and if they don't like the prices they can argue with the insurance companies about it instead of milking their employees dry. If it's too difficult to do, the government can simply offer some version of Medicaid for employees at whatever price they think the bosses will like and use that as the baseline for the benefits of any other health insurance they offer, so that nobody will be stuck with any cheapskate plans that don't cover anything.
